Governor Greg Abbott appointed Andrea Westerfeld to the Tenth Court of Appeals, Place 3, effective October 1, 2026, for a term set to expire December 31, 2028, or until her successor shall be duly elected and qualified.
Andrea Westerfeld of Midlothian is an assistant county and district attorney and chief of the appellate division for Ellis County. Previously, she worked as a criminal district attorney in Collin County. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Bar of the Supreme Court of the United States, and the Texas District & County Attorneys Association, and she was admitted to the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Additionally, she is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Westerfeld received a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Wells College and a Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law.
